Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to all services provided by Thea Morris Education, including tuition and diagnostic assessments.

Services Provided

Tuition
Sessions are tailored to the individual and support the development of literacy (and, where appropriate, numeracy) skills.
A formal diagnosis is not required to access tuition.

Diagnostic Assessments
Assessments are carried out using standardised methods and professional judgement to build a clear profile of strengths and areas of need.

A diagnosis is not guaranteed.

Bookings & Payment

  • All sessions and assessments must be booked in advance

  • Tuition sessions are paid in advance at the time of booking

  • Diagnostic assessments require a deposit to secure the booking, with the remaining balance due prior to the appointment

Cancellations & Rescheduling

• Tuition: At least 24 hours’ notice is required to rearrange a session
• Assessments: At least 48 hours’ notice is required to rearrange an appointment

Late cancellations may be charged in full.
Where possible, alternative dates will be offered.

Cancellation by the Practitioner

If a session or assessment needs to be cancelled, an alternative appointment or a refund will be offered.

Nature of an assessment

Diagnostic assessments are educational in nature and are designed to provide a clear understanding of a person’s learning profile.

They include:
• standardised assessments
• professional observations
• background information provided by parents/carers (and school where appropriate)

Please note:
• A diagnosis of dyslexia is not guaranteed
• The assessment reflects performance on the day
• It is not a medical diagnosis
• It does not guarantee access arrangements, funding, or additional support
• Final decisions regarding access arrangements or support are made by schools, colleges, and relevant organisations

Reports & Feedback

  • A written report will be provided following a diagnostic assessment

  • Reports may support applications for exam access arrangements or funding, where appropriate

  • A follow-up consultation will be included to discuss findings and next steps

Data Protection & Confidentiality

All personal data is handled in accordance with UK GDPR.

• Information is stored securely
• Data is not shared without consent unless required by law
• Records are retained in line with professional and statutory guidelines

Safeguarding

  • Safeguarding is taken seriously.

  • Any concerns about a child’s welfare will be managed in line with statutory guidance and may involve sharing information where there is a legal duty to do so.
